The Paulina Constancia Museum of Naïve Art (MoNA) endeavors to hold an annual KABILIN FEST (Kabilin is Cebuano for heritage) on or around May 18, International Museum Day (IMD). This year marks the 2nd IMD-Kabilin Fest. With this festival, the MoNA, in partnership with various creative practitioners in the community, gives the Cebuano public the opportunity to experience a myriad of interactive cultural heritage workshops under one roof.
As a post Mother’s Day Celebration as well as a kick off activity to the 2nd Kabilin Fest, the MoNA presents Moments of Motherhood, a traveling exhibition of Paulina Constancia. It has been shown in Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. From May 17 to June 17, the M.O.M. collection will be at the Artspace of the MoNA. Paulina uses scrap fabric and other materials to symbolize the shared moments between mother and child. She says, “ It’s these little moments that matter, it’s these moments that we remember.”
